国際交流のすすめ --> Cultural exchange through Karate!

We welcome international students! :)
We are looking for international students who wants to do Karate with us. We are a non-profit organization(NPO).

　島国の日本人は、ここに住んでいるそのものが諸外国に比べれば『井の中の蛙』状態である。世界に８億人もの人が明日食べる食料がなく飢餓にあえいでいることを知らない。空手も同じで、一流派の中だけで、やれ寸止めだ、極めだと言っても、外のことを知らずして同じ暗い井戸の中だけでいくら激論しても始まらない。いつも一つの道場だけで稽古している子も同じく、「古井戸」にどっぷり浸かっていると言わざるをえない。
　政令都市仙台には東北大学ほか著名大学が多数あり、留学生は、異文化の人たちと接し交流する機会を求めています。ヨーロッパでは日本の武道や古来の文化、礼法などが外国人をとりこにしどこのサークルも繁盛しています。ＪＥＫもそういう意味において国際交流から、子供たちに広い視野での学びにつなげるためにも外国人指導の受け入れを積極的に進めたい。子供たちはどういう反応を示すだろうかと考えるとき、言葉は通じなくとも身振り手まねでも通じる氣（思いやり）の世界を今のうちから感じておくことは重要であると思う。国際社会に適応できる人づくりが求められている現代においては、子供たちの未開の感性を引き出す絶好の機会になることだろうと考えます。

"道場Dojo" 説明！
“Dojo”とは、武術の稽古や華道、茶道などの修業をする所です。
“Dojo”は、日本古来の伝統文化を通し、日本人の心を育てています。
JEK総本部の修空館道場は、武道の“Dojo”で青少年を鍛えています。

"Dojo" explanation！
"Dojo" is the place which pursues knowledge of exercise of a martial art, flower arrangement, the tea ceremony, etc.
"Dojo" -- Japan -- the heart of through and Japanese people is raised for tradition culture from ancient times.
The Syukukan dojo (Syukukan exercise hall) of the JEK total headquarters is training youth by "Dojo" of Bushido.

What's the "Karate -do"??

The word karate-Do is a combination of three Japanese characters.
"KARA-空" meaning empty, and "TE-手" meaning hand and "DO-道" meaning way,therefore karate-Do means "way for empty hand".
It doesn't need "arms". It is important for defending oneself.
But Karate-Do is not only "fighting".Some people are mistaking what is the Karate-Do.
We consider Karate-Do is for rigours of physical and mental training.These are the most important things for it.
As you know mental concentration is very difficult.
Through our karate-Do training we are striving to improve our mental side through good etiquette, Discipline and perfection of technique in order to better understand ourselves.

We are always trying to do them.
Willpower is necessary for karate-Do.

Some foreigners came to our dojo for practicing with us that before.
One of those men built a Karate Dojo in Switzerland.
We accept offer of a international student with pleasure.
Especially international students who live in or around Miyagi, please contact us.
